Virginia R. Kehrer

Virginia Rudge Kehrer, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 28, 2024, in Landenberg, Pennsylvania.

Virginia was born in January of 1931, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Her family and friends enjoyed her outgoing personality. She was the pillar of strength, always there to listen and help the family through difficult situations. Virginia was intensely proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving every moment she spent with them. She was close to her sisters, speaking with them multiple times a day and enjoying the unbreakable bond that sisters share. A devoted Hockessin United Methodist Church member, she participated in the Alter Guild and the Deborah and Doris Circle for 25 years. She also took great pleasure in sewing ‘Pillows for Cancer.’

Virginia will be dearly missed, but she leaves behind a shining example of love, strength, and character. Her smile, positive attitude, and love of family will never be forgotten. Her life lessons will continue to guide us in our family decisions.

Virginia was married to the late Ernest G. Kehrer Sr. for 43 years. She is survived by her son Ernest Jr., his wife Peggy, her son Randy, and his wife Cindy; three grandchildren, Christopher, Whitney, and Devon; two great-grandchildren, Caroline, and Jack; and sisters Lois and Janice.

Services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society.
