Tzu Ching (William) Chang, age 84, of Wilmington, Delaware died on Saturday, December 30, 2023 after spending Christmas surrounded by his loving family.
Born in China to Tse Han and Wu Chien Chang, he attended National Taiwan University, continuing on to Cal Tech for his Masters, and graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He spent his entire career working for DuPont in Iowa, New York, and Wilmington, having traveled around the world, and establishing new businesses in China before retirement.
Tzu Ching was a generous man who enjoyed spending time with his family, in particular beach vacations with his grandchildren. He appreciated his solitary time reading, going for walks, and swimming.
He will be missed, and is survived by his wife June, son George and Becky Chang, and grandchildren Henry and Caroline. He is also survived by his siblings Bao Yi and Denny Teng, Jane Tso, Yea Nan Chang, and Richard and Jalu Chang.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 11:00 am at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A viewing will be held prior from 10:00 to 11:00 am . Interment will follow at Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery, Wilmington, DE
