Theodore Woodie Reynolds

Theodore (Ted) Reynolds, age 72, passed away peacefully at home after a lengthy illness in Milford, Delaware under the care of Accent Hospice on April 20, 2025. He was born in June of 1952 in Texas City, TX near Galveston. He was the son of the late Thomas M. Reynolds and Rosemary Craig Sullivan Reynolds. His family moved to Florida, and eventually to Cheswold, DE. He later moved to Milford, DE.

Mr. Reynolds enjoyed music of all kinds and loved to go camping at bluegrass festivals. He enjoyed joining in when his family jammed with their instruments. An avid reader, he particularly liked books by James Michner. Ted loved celebrating all important family milestones. He was a member of the Kent County 4-H Leaders Association and the 4-H Links. He was an automobile enthusiast and a life-long animal lover.

Ted attended John Bassett Moore High School in Smyrna, DE. He was a jack of all trades and held many positions throughout his lifetime. Between the 1980’s and the 1990’s, he was an avid photographer with several award winning photos of “Warbirds in Flight” while working with Mark Meyers and the Warbirds Museum in Florida and with the Commemorative Air Force in Texas and private owners all over the country.

Over the years he worked for Green’s Dairy Farm in Brenford, DE, Ennis and Deakyne in Smyrna, and Dover Cold Storage. He was the owner of Reynolds Photography Service, a GS-7 photographer at Dover AFB, employed at Lowes in Dover, worked as a handyman for Reynolds Handyman services and property managing, worked as a locator for Chesapeake builders, and worked for Atlantic Medical Supplies as well as Kent and Sussex Industries in Milford.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters Elizabeth Reynolds and Sarah Christie as well as his step-granddaughter, Brooke Davis.

He is survived by his sister Carolyn (David) Comegys of Ausable Forks, NY, his brother Thomas Reynolds (Karen) of Winter Garden, FL, step-children, Jody Vasey (Dean), Ginger Jensen, Jaime Copen (Wayne), and Jeremy Jensen. He is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews, 6 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren, and former spouses, Carolyn Wisk and Sandra Reynolds. He also leaves behind his good friend and caregiver, Marguerite (Maggie) Steward.

Services will  be held privately at a later date. At Ted’s request, he wished to contribute to scientific research by donating his body to the University of Delaware’s Anatomical Donation Program.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Ted’s name to Accent Hospice of Delaware or a charity of your choosing.

    Sorry to hear of Ted's passing. We have known him for 20 years and have many good memories of being with him many times at both Milford and Frederica senior center activities. Before his passing, he was on our meals on wheels route and we got to catch up with him and talk a bit. Glad we got to do that. RIP Ted
