The Reverend David Sheehan, Jr.

The Reverend David Sheehan, Jr., age 92, passed away Thursday April 13, 2023.  He was born in January 1936 to David and Mary Sheehan.

David was well respected in the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware and was a Minister at Christ Church in Delaware City, St. Andrews in Wilmington, St. Nicholas in Newark, Calvery Episcopal Church and The Cathedral of St. John, both in Wilmington.

He loved bird watching and was a stamp collector.  Most of all, David adored spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, David was predeceased by his daughter Susan.  He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte; daughter Sandra; son David; daughter-in-law Christie; son-in-law David Geho; grandchildren Sarah and David Geho; sister Sheila Sheehan Cifoni; nieces Marybeth and Lauren, nephew David, and their children.

Funeral Services

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday April 21, 2023 at Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle, DE.

    Rev. Sheehan baptized my sister Jane and me when he was the pastor at Christ Church in Delaware City. I believe this was his first parish. He was such a kind and caring person. He will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.

    David was the kind and gentle Head of Calvert Church on Lore Ave. In Northern Wilm. Suburbs while I was an elected State Official for the Community.
