Sushant Subhash Deshmukh, age 46, of Dover, DE and previously of Gilbertsville, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
He was born in Ahmedabad, India to Subhash and Sujata Deshmukh. Sushant began his engineering education at University of Pune, Pune, India where he received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree. He further pursued this education at Cleveland State University where he received a Master of Science degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering.
Sushant worked as an engineer for numerous companies, most recently as a Staff Engineer for Edgewell Personal Care. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication. Friends and colleagues expressed his ability to bring a sense of calmness to meetings and various projects. Being a calming presence came naturally to him, the name “Sushant” does mean “quiet” and “calm.” Sushant is also remembered for his visionary approach to new projects and technologies to further advance production and staff development.
Sushant will always be remembered as a close, kind, and loving friend. His colleagues have said he always made it a point to be kind. He may have been someone’s superior at work, but he always made time for a friendly conversation, whether it was about politics, his favorite foods, or his beloved animals.
He was a loving pet parent to his four dogs Simba, Saylor, Yogi and Ziggy and his cat Zoey, whom he lovingly called Mumu. One of Sushant’s great joys was trying different cuisines, especially when traveling to new countries. He came quite the foodie. He recently visited Italy, China and India, enjoying all the countries had to offer, especially their foods.
Sushant had a newfound passion for his faith. He continued to explore his faith in spirituality and enjoyed discussing it with others. His newfound passion for his spiritual journey brought a sense of calmness and peace.
Sushant is survived by his loving wife, and best friend, Sheetal Poojari. She admired and respected his compassion for all, whether it was his colleagues or animals. Sushant always remained humble and kind. He will be greatly missed by all.
Services for Sushant will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike Hockessin, Delaware 19707.
