Stanley Rosen

Stanley Rosen, born March 1, 1928, died March 9, 2023, in between, he did lots of stuff!

What can you say about a life well lived? What can you say about the life of someone who repeatedly said “I don’t believe in reincarnation, but if there is such a thing, I want to come back as myself.”

In his 95 years on this planet, Stan married Ann, the love of his life and began their great adventure together, raising 3 children, starting multiple businesses, traveling to all 50 states and over 80 other countries and playing golf, lots and lots of golf. Those of you who knew him can fill in the rest with your own stories; those of you who didn’t missed someone special. Don’t mourn his passing, celebrate his life!

Stan was predeceased by his parents, Isadore and Bess Rosen his daughter, Kathi Rosen, his sister, Evelyn Croll and his nephew, Dr. Jonathon Croll (Carole). He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ann Shapiro Rosen, his sons Dr. Michael Rosen (Becky Rosen, who was more like a daughter than a daughter-in-law), and Andrew Rosen, Esq., his beloved grandchildren, Molly Rosen and Zach Rosen and his nieces and nephew Carolyn Croll, Susan Croll (Paul), Dr. Theodore Croll(Debbie), his great nephew, Joshua Croll and his great niece, Anna Josefsson (Viktor).

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to Jewish Family Services or the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Nancy, Darla & Tyler Wilson writes,
The Rosen family and the Wilson family go back many years starting in the Monroe Park Apartments in Wilmington in the late 1950s. Our families (parents and children) shared happy and sad times together as we all grew up and grew older. Stan loaned my Dad ski equipment in the early 1970s when my father first took up the sport. Stan & Ann's and Rod & Nancy's lives connected at many points over the past 65 years and my parents always enjoyed Stan's good humor and his hardy zest for life. All of the Wilsons fully shared Stan's enlightened and forward-thinking outlook on the world, and admired his sharing of those progressive views. Darla, Tyler and our Mom, Nancy, send our deepest sympathies to Ann and the entire Rosen family.

A loving and always smiling gentleman. When I last visited him and Ann in 2017 just after they moved into their new place over the PA line, he invited me to lunch where we enjoyed a meal with many stories of the family.
