Sharon Diana Johnson

Sharon Diana Johnson, age 66, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 22, 2021 at Christiana Hospital in Newark.

Sharon was born in Sparta, North Carolina, daughter of the late Mary and George Godfrey. She was a graduate of P.S. duPont High School in Wilmington.

She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who always gave and cared for others. Sharon enjoyed being with and spoiling her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her granddaughter, Mary Godfrey. She is survived by her son Scott Godfrey of Wilmington; son Augustus Johnson Jr. of Wilmington; daughter Crystal Collier and her husband Randy of Wilmington; grandchildren Olivia and Joshua Collier; Augustus Johnson Sr., her dear friend and father of their children and grandfather of their grandchildren; sister Brenda Picraux of Sterling Heights, MI; and many extended friends and family members.

Funeral Services

A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm followed by a prayer service at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware 19803. Interment will follow at Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, DE 19805.

Current Covid-19 protocols will be followed including, facemasks, social distancing and occupancy requirements.

    I miss you and love you ๐Ÿ’, you were such a a great mom. You were there for me, Crystal and Gus. You were a great grandmother to Josh, Olivia and I know you see Abigail. When I see your Picture I get sad and wish we had more time. Give Mary a bear hug from me and help me thru this time in my life that I have no one. It would be different if you were here.
