Ron Ingham

Rodney R. Ingham, age 89, of Wilmington, Delaware, died on August 13, 2021.

Ron was born in Leominster, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late John Vernet and Ruth Royer Ingham of Wyoming Valley, Pennsylvania, and Wilmington, Delaware. Ron attended Niagara Falls High School and graduated from the University of Rochester in 1954 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering. He earned an MBA degree from Indiana University in 1957. While at Indiana University, Ron was elected into Sigma Iota Epsilon, a National Honorary fraternity.

In 1954, Ron joined the DuPont Company as an engineer in the Reactor Technology Section of the Savannah River Plant in Aiken, South Carolina. During a career of 33 years with DuPont, he held technical, consulting, and management positions, including manager of Financial Services, DuPont Customer Financing, Corporate Insurance, and the Stable Value Fixed Income Fund.

In 1991, Ron joined T. Rowe Price Associates as Vice President and Portfolio Manager of stable fixed income funds for large corporations. He helped develop stable value fixed income funds with new structures that enhanced diversification and safety. Ron was a founding director of the Stable Value Investment Association. After retiring from T. Rowe Price in 1996, Ron joined Wilmington Trust Company where he served as Corporate Insurance Manager until 2008.

For 55 years, Ron was an active member of Christ Church Christiana Hundred where he served as an usher and Monday morning money counter. While living in Augusta, Georgia, Ron was an Eagle Scout and served as Scoutmaster of a troop of youths from troubled families. Ron was formerly an accomplished violinist who played violin with the Philharmonic Orchestra Niagara Falls, and the Augusta (Georgia) Symphony, where he was also the Assistant Concertmaster. For many years Ron was a volunteer in the Machine Shop at Hagley Museum and Library, Wilmington, Delaware. Ron enjoyed his memberships at Wilmington Country Club, The Wilmington Club, and the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Delaware, where he served as Governor. He was an avid fly fisherman who served as President of the Swiftwater Preserve. Most importantly, Ron was a loving husband and father.

Ron is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Davis Ingham, and his sister, Martha Ingham Everett. He is predeceased by his parents, John Vernet Ingham and Ruth Royer Ingham, his brother, John Vernet Ingham Jr., and his twin brother, Roger Bowman Ingham. Ron is also survived by his three daughters, Sharon Brown (Joel) of Tampa, Florida, Lisa Nalley of Greenville, South Carolina, and Kathryn Reese (Bart) of Wilmington, Delaware, and seven grandchildren, Mary Ashton Nalley Dukes (David), Bennett Nalley, Weston Nalley (Emily), Davis Brown, Caroline Brown, Landon Reese, and Elliot Reese, as well as one great grandchild, Thomas Brown.

A service will be held at Christ Church Christiana Hundred, 2:00PM on Saturday, August 21, 2021. Reception to follow. Interment private.
