Robert A. Reimschussel

Robert “Bob” A. Reimschussel, of Claymont, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024 at the age of 89. Born in Jersey City, NJ, in 1935, Bob grew up in Chester, PA, and spent his adult life in Claymont, DE, where he built a legacy of faith, family, and community service.

Bob was a devout Christian who lived his life as a testament to his faith. Over the years, he served in numerous leadership roles, including Sunday School Superintendent (Marcus Hook Baptist Church),

Deacon [North Baptist Church], and men’s bible study leader [Brandywine Valley Church]. He found great joy in sharing his faith and guiding others in their spiritual journeys.

Bob retired from General Motors in 2000 after 45 years of loyal service. In retirement, he treasured time spent with his family.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, Robert G. Reimschussel and Margaret [Cline] Reimschussel, and his sister, Carol Shadwell.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jean, who was his partner in life and faith. Together, they raised three children who were the pride of his life:

  • Darlene Ogden (Ryan)
  • David Reimschussel (Tracy)
  • Dawn Sheiker, along with her daughter, Luna, and Luna’s father, Jeremy.

Bob’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in his family and the countless lives he touched.

A funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on December 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803 with a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Delaware Hospice at https://delawarehospice.org/donate/.

Funeral Services

A funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on December 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Brandywine Valley Church, 7 Mt. Lebanon Rd, Wilmington, DE 19803 with a visitation beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.
