Raymond Michael “Mike” Terné

Raymond Michael (Mike) Terné, longtime resident of Wilmington, DE and West Mount Airy, Philadelphia, PA passed away on August 30, 2024.  He was born in 1941 in Philadelphia, PA and was the widower of the late Alice Wagstaff Terné.

Mike graduated from Allegheny College and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.  He worked as a consultant at Hay Huggins and CIGNA before becoming Chief Actuary of ALICO (an AIG Company) in Wilmington, DE.  After retirement, Mike enjoyed listening to Jazz, collecting art and discussing history and current events.

Mike is survived by his son David Terné and his wife, Trina and their son Alexander of West Hartford, CT and by his son, Bryan Terné and his wife Kathleen Klocko of Norristown, PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 on Saturday October 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Friends may begin visiting with the family beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Brandywine Valley SPCA (https://bvspca.org).

    To the Terne family, I worked with your father at both Cigna and Alico. He was a great person to work for and a great person in general. He taught me a lot and I appreciated his patience and guidance. He also told wonderful stories about his travels for work. I know he will be missed.
