Promila Suri

Promila Suri passed away on October 25, 2024, at the University of Pennsylvania, following a brief and courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born in Delhi, India, Promila had an enduring passion for medicine, graduating from Maulana Azad Medical College in 1972. She married Kulbhushan Suri in 1978 and later emigrated to Ontario, Canada, where she continued her medical education and welcomed two children, Nipun and Nidhi.

Driven by her commitment to further her expertise, Promila moved to Hershey, Pennsylvania, to train in Oncology at Hershey Medical Center. In 1992, she settled in Newark, Delaware, where she began a distinguished medical career, practicing in both Delaware and Maryland.

Known for her intelligence, compassion, kindness, and deep faith, Dr. Suri was a beloved figure to her family, friends, and the broader community. She is survived by her husband, Kulbhushan, and her two children, Nipun and Nidhi, who will carry on her legacy of service and care.

Funeral Services

Dr. Suri’s life was a testament to dedication and love, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on November 3, 2024, at 3pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE.
