Patricia Kienle

Patricia Ann Kienle, age 70, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26th after courageously battling lung cancer. She was surrounded by her family. Pat was born in December of 1951 in Wilmington, DE to Dorothy and Joseph F. Kienle Jr. A graduate of Padua Academy and the University of Delaware, Pat worked for numerous Delaware companies including Hercules, Astra Zeneca and WL Gore.
Pat’s passions included international travel, fine food and a love of all animals. Pat was a brave traveler, not a tourist. She often traveled alone, navigating foreign cities like a native. Her home was filled with special mementos and treasures from her travels. Pat was a champion for women’s rights and a keen observer of politics. Pat was a long term volunteer for Faithful Friends Animal Society and worked tirelessly to care for the dogs in particular, earning her the nickname of The Puppy Pusher. An avid cook and vegetarian, Pat enjoyed researching recipes and watching food shows, particularly those that combined travel with food.
Patricia is survived by her brother Joseph F. Kienle III, her sisters Jeanette Segal, Mary Sklar and Katie Kienle. Additionally, she is survived by her four nieces, Rachel Segal, Jessica Kienle, Stephanie Kienle and Hana Zeidman.

Funeral Services

The family will memorialize Pat in private. Because Pat’s pets gave her unconditional love and enriched her life, the family would be honored to have donations made to Faithful Friends Animal Society at 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
