Patricia C. Deverell

Patricia (Pat) Deverell age 90, of Greenville, DE. passed away peacefully on Monday April 7, 2025.

Pat was born in Baltimore Maryland to Wilmer Joseph Cannon and Mable Disharoon Cannon. Pat graduated from Conrad High School and enjoyed regular lunch outings with classmates long into retirement. She earned her B.S. from James Madison University.

Pat is best known as a First Grade Teacher at The Tatnall School, where she taught from 1963 until 1998. She has been remembered by, and had visits from many students and faculty members over the years. Pat recently initiated a Scholarship for graduating seniors or college undergraduates interested in pursuing a degree in the field of Education or Health Sciences. Her lifelong passions also included antiques, reading, writing, and sewing, with her favorite being her enthusiasm for miniatures. She very much enjoyed her membership in the Miniature Club of Wilmington.

Pat also enjoyed her involvement in The Junior League of Wilmington. Aside from her favorite hobbies, Pat was also a talented sketch artist and could play the guitar, concertina, piano and organ. Pat was a member of Christ Church in Greenville and more recently The New Covenant Church in Middletown.

Pat is predeceased by Jim Deverell, her husband of 52 years. She was also predeceased by her first husband Frederick Stabler. Pat is survived by Karen Deverell Liebenow (Dan) and Jayne Deverell Edwards (David).

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the kindness and excellent care the staff at The Country House provided Pat over the past 10 years, as well as the services and compassion from the Acts Hospice Team.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Cemetery, 101 Old Kennett Rd, Greenville Delaware.

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial contribution to Acts Legacy Foundation, P.O. Box 90, West Point, PA 19486, c/o CH Staff Development Fund.

 

Funeral Services

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Cemetery. 101 Old Kennett Rd, Greenville Delaware.
