This is so unbelievable, so devastating, so quick. I will miss your smile, your warmth, your sense of humour, your insights, your selflishness, and your friendship. Most of all I will simply miss you.

Joseph DeGaetani lit a candle and writes,
I only had the pleasure to meet Pam when I started at the university Fall 2020. In the time I knew her, she continually showed that she had an infinite capacity for love and helpfulness. I mentioned half jokingly that my wife was looking for a job and could replace a staff member who was retiring. Pam remembered that, and personally came to my office to inform me of another opening in the department that they'd love to have my wife apply for. This is outside the dozens of times she happily followed me back to my office as I had accidentally locked myself out. Pam was a real treasure, and I'll forever be glad I got to know her for the time that I did.

    Professor Jinfa Cai writes,
In 1996, I joined the faculty at the Department of Math Sciences, University of Delaware. Pam assisted me in many different ways, from travel arrangements to budgeting for grant proposal preparation. In the past 15 years, I have hosted over 20 visitors, and Pam was the one helped for their paperwork (in order to apply for their visa). All of these visitors had lunch with Pam. They all sent condolences, and it is just too shocking with the news. Pam is kind person and a problem solver. She is a "lifeline" at the university. Whenever I run into issues, Pam had ideas to resolve them. Pam, you are missed, and just cannot believe that is a fact now. When I visited you last November at Christiana Hospital, you talked about the eagerness to come back to UD. Pam, rest in peace! Family of Pam, my heart goes out to you for the loss of dear Pam. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers

I knew her very briefly while I sought admission to the Department of Mathematical Sciences here at the University of Delaware. She was so pleasant in her responses to my emails and welcomed me pleasantly when I arrived. She was so concerned about my accommodation because I came with my family. Shortly after knowing her, I received a message from the Department's chair that she had cancer and was undergoing chemo. I only hoped that she would be back. Ma'am, rest in the bosom of our lord. You'll be greatly missed.

It is so hard to believe that Pam is no longer with us. She had such a big heart and was so gracious and kind to everyone around her. I had the pleasure of working with Pam for 21 years in the Math dept. When I started there she was so welcoming and helpful. She made you feel comfortable around her. She was such an easy person to talk to. I have fond memories of her stories about her cat, and her feeding the foxes, squirrels, raccoons, and birds in her back yard. She put out quite a spread for them and made me laugh at how she described their behaviors. Even the little critters knew the big heart she had and they brought her great pleasure. We developed a friendship over the years that I missed very much when I retired in 2020. I am better for having known her and I will forever miss her. Thank you Pam for all your kindness and friendship. Rest peacefully.

She was very bright and talented, extremely helpful, a great friend, always very positive, making it impossible for me not to be a more positive person myself after our conversations, whether during the working hours or later as I often stopped by her office to chat a bit — just a lovely and unforgettable gem of a person. Wherever you are now, Pam, I hope you can feel the warm embrace of all of us who admired you and cherished your friendship. I will always have fond memories of your times in the department. Thank you!
