Mika Samuel Mage

Mika Samuel Mage, age 34, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2021. He was born in Chapel Hill, NC, as the beloved son of Dr. Maria Donner and Dr. David Mage. Mika grew up in Malaysia and Switzerland before his family returned to Chapel Hill and later moved to Delaware, where he attended the Charter School of Wilmington. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and then earned his Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Mika was a dual citizen of the United States and Finland. He had ambitions of pursuing medical studies, and in his leisure time enjoyed learning about science, playing the guitar, and producing heavy metal music. Mika was smart, funny, and driven, played too hard, and departed from this world too soon.

Mika is survived by his mother, Maria Donner, and his sister, Susanna. He is preceded in death by his father, David. The funeral was private and the family is not asking for any contributions.

Thanks for all the positive support and grandiose engineering for Serpent ov Old and the wonderful songs and craft for Nihilistinen Barbaarisuus! We've had our ups and downs and disagreements, however, the ups outweigh the downs dramatically. This is a tremendous loss to the Kingdom of Metal and another great light has been flickered out of existence by the cold winds of time... Eternal Hails from your brother, Stephen John Corridean Jr.

Maria and Suzie - we just heard this news about Mika, which was so unexpected. We are so sorry for your loss. As your next-Door neighbor for close to 20 years, I really enjoyed my conversations with Mika, and all of the updates you provided through the years, on his music, activities, and Med school adventures. He was The Finnish Boss - a smart young man, who always provided me with a smile when we spoke. Barbara and I hope you are both doing well in the aftermath of this loss. Rest In Peace, Mika.
