Michael Glenn Koch, age 42, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of New London, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at his home.
Mike was born in Wilmington, Delaware, son of Glenn Koch and the late Sandra Dzwonchyk Koch who passed away in 2003. He graduated from Avon Grove High School in 1999. He attended Keystone College, Delaware Technical and Community College and the University of Delaware.
He had a passion for cars and was able to channel his interest into a career that spanned sales for various companies including Audi and Mercedes Benz. When he was in college, he developed an interest in security while assisting at his mother’s bail bond business. Mike rekindled this interest into various security position at the Port of Wilmington, Chase Bank and several retail locations.
Mike was a history buff who enjoyed learning about all aspects of our U.S. Presidents, especially John F. Kennedy. He loved the game of baseball and enjoyed pitching. He was an avid Phillies fan collecting cards and other memorabilia of some of his favorite players.
He could light up any room with his personality and sense of humor, it was like no other. He had a gift to make anyone laugh with a quick joke or a story about what he was working on. He loved all type of music and enjoyed learning about the history of the artists.
Mike is survived by his father, Glenn Koch of Wilmington, Delaware and his sister, Amanda Vickers of Townsend, Delaware.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 12:00 pm, at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Interment will be private.
