Maxine McCoy Healy Bell

Maxine McCoy Healy Bell, age 93, of Wilmington, DE., formerly of Rotonda West, Florida passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2017.

Maxine was born in Chester, PA to the late Galen W. and Blanche Huhn McCoy. She graduated from the Wilmington High School and Goldey Beacom College. Maxine worked in finance and accounting for both the Brandywine Raceway and the George T. Weymouth family. She was a longtime member of the Talleyville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all those who cared for Maxi.

She is predeceased by her husband John J. Healy, Jr., second husband Stewart W. Bell and her daughter, Kathleen Healy White. She is survived by her daughter, Frances M. Hague and her husband James R., her son John J. Healy III and his wife Kathryn, grandchildren; Deborah, Sandra, Jami and Kyle and great-grandchildren; Nicole, Alexander and Cameron.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maxi’s memory may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem-Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.

Funeral Services

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Road, Wilmington, DE 19803 where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the mass at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, DE.
