Mary Matthews Robinson

Mary “Minnie” Matthews Robinson, age 78, of Hockessin, DE., beloved big sister, cherished aunt, and devoted friend to so many, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was the eldest daughter of Josephine Raskob and Charles Robinson.

She was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and Maryville College. After thirty years teaching at Holy Angels School, Mary became a nanny to many families. As Mary would say: “There’s nothing like a baby!” She was an avid car enthusiast, and whenever possible, could be seen riding her Harley Davidson in her Harley leather, helmet and shades. She loved sports, particularly tennis and football. Mary’s large assortment of friends was many and varied.

She is survived by nine siblings, a devoted companion, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her care and support, love and encouragement were constant. She will be missed by many.

A Memorial Gathering to celebrate Mary’s life is being planned for the fall.

Condolences

    Paul Huf writes,
Mary was a consummate big sister to my buddy, Dirk, in a way you could characterize as being a disciplinarian. When in a more social moment she was quick to smile and laugh with anyone present. Fond memories for me.
