Marie attended Mt. Pleasant High School and Goldey-Beacom Business College

After college she began working at an automotive supply business on King Street and later enjoyed a long career working at Container Corporation of America (later Smurfit Container) as a V.P. in the Finance Dept.

Marie had a passion and lifelong love of bowling. She was even recognized with a 50-year participation award from the United States Bowling Congress Woman’s Championships in 2019. Bowling not only brought her great joy and lasting friendships, but it brought her love.

Marie and her future husband, Charlie, found each other in one of their favorite places, the bowling alley. They remained happily married for over 20 years enjoying bowling, golf, and travel together. Marie enjoyed the holidays and shared her joy by baking and distributing scores of cookie tins filled with her own handmade creations. She always reminded us to return the empty tins in order for us to get next year’s batch of sweet joy.

In later years, once retired, Marie moved to the Maris Grove community in Glenn Mills, PA where she lived for the last 18 years. She was very active in the Travel Club, Bridge club, and the New Resident Assistance team. Marie knew all the employees and residents by name and took special joy in supporting the High School Student workers at the facility.

In honor of Marie’s life, please consider making a memorial donation in her name to the Maris Grove Scholars Fund at 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
