Lorraine A. Cannon, age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
Lorraine was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Joseph and Helena Kaminski. Lorraine graduated from Wilmington High School in 1962. She received her associate’s degree from the Hagerstown Medical Institute.
Lorraine was a top lab technician for Greeley Orthodontists. She predominately was a homemaker, making a wonderful home for her husband, her 3 sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Lorraine spent over 10 years performing childcare out of her home.
Lorraine was very active in her church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, where she was a Eucharistic minister, volunteered in the Outreach program, Bereavement Committee and spent over 10 years as a CRE/CCD teacher. She was a lifetime member of the Hall-Burke VFW Post 5447 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Moose Lodge 847.
In addition to her family and her volunteering, Lorraine enjoyed ceramics and calligraphy. Lorraine most enjoyed her time spent riding over 100K miles throughout the US and Canada on their motorcycle as a co-pilot for her husband.
Lorraine is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert, her sons, Bob Cannon (Wendy) of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Cannon (Meredith) of Ponte Vedra, FL and Marc Cannon (Karen Feeney) of Wilmington, DE, her grandchildren, Lee Cannon (Christine Ferrini), Sean Cannon, Danielle Johnson (Braden), Kylie Kidd, Lauriana Cannon, Brooke Cannon and Tricia Cannon, her great-grandchildren, Emelia and Octavia, and her sister Jodie Kronsberg (Barry) of Boynton Beach, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd., Wilmington, DE 19803. A Visitation will be held prior to the mass from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be private.
