Karna F. Wildt

Karna F. Wildt, age 91, of Kendal at Longwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 29, 2022. She was born in 1930 in Bergen, Norway.

Following the end of World War II she completed her high school and college education in Norway, earning her physical therapy license when she was not competing in speed skating or riding around on her Vespa motor scooter.

In 1958, she emigrated to Wilmington, Delaware to live with her sister’s family and begin her career as a contract physical therapist, providing geriatric rehabilitation at assisted living facilities and private homes in northern Delaware.

She loved international travel, skiing, hiking, Longwood Gardens, making flower arrangements, and spending time with her friends. A member of Christ Church in Greenville, she is survived by her children, Laurette and Erik, and grandchildren Nate, Lauren, and Martin.

Her family suggests memorial contributions in Karna’s memory. Payments can be made out to Kendal-Crosslands Communities and sent to Rayna Gray, Kendal-Crosslands Communities, P.O.Box 100, Kennett Square, PA 19348.

Condolences

    Vicki center writes,
Hi Erik and Laurette, I just found out that your mom Karna died. I loved her greatly and so value the time that I spent with her at Kendal. She was such a special lady with overflowing kindness and a graceful spirit. She had a deep faith in Jesus and often said to me "do you hear the singing" of which only she heard. I had a dream last night, that I was back at Kendal and Karna met me and was dressed in a long white flowing gown. She was so beautiful, young and radiant. I firmly believe that I will see Karna again in Gods Kingdom where there is no more pain or suffering....all things made new" Revelation 21:4-5. Prayers for you and your family, all my love, Vicki Center, former Kendal Staff
