Judith Jean Morris

Judith Jean “Judy” Morris, age 79, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully and with grace on December 9, 2020 at Kentmere with her family by her side. She was born in Morgantown, West Virginia, daughter of the late Gene and Mary Morris.

Judy had an exemplary life graduating from Aiken High School, Aiken, SC with high academic honors and continuing her education at Duke University. After graduating from Duke with a BS in chemistry, she joined DuPont and moved to Wilmington, DE. Judy worked in many areas for DuPont and travelled extensively for them across the world making long lasting friendships at every location. She will be remembered for her outgoing personality and great sense of humor and for always putting the needs of others before her own.

Judy is survived by her brother Jim and wife Patty, nieces Amanda Jean Morris and Kat Wies of Sacramento, CA, nephew Michael Morris and wife Jennifer with their children Owen and Olivia, and step mother Georgia Morris. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Steven Morris.

A gathering celebrating Judy’s life will be planned in the late spring or early summer of 2021. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

memories of growing up in aiken where judy and i connected in the ninth grade and remained besties throughout HS. i remember going over to her house in aiken to visit a number of times in aiken and can still picture her entire family. our lives followed similar paths: she went to duke, i went to UNC, a short distance away. she came to wilmington to work for duPont, i came to wilmington to work for duPont. we sort of lost touch for a number of years except for an occasional christmas card, then reconnected about 20 years ago and became besties again. a very VERY special person and friend and i totally agree w the comments about her being a loving and caring and very friendly person. i shall miss her terribly.
