    Mrs. Ann Spell writes,
Sincere condolences. Life is just too short, no matter the years, leaving only memories. May the countless, fine memories of your beloved Joe forever warm your hearts and bring smiles to your faces, even behind tears shed. May you find comfort in knowing that death was never God’s plan, (Gen.1:28; Rom.5:12) and one day death will be no more, as (Rev.21:4) loved ones will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) with the hope of life forever in paradise, on earth, as (Ps.37:11,29) God intended. Cherish the hope.

Joe V, affectionately nick-named Joe V, Baby! by my sister when were little, taught at Delaware State Fire School (and elsewhere) with my dad, Allen M. Davis. Dad always had humorous stories and tales of pranks he and Joe played on each other after a training weekend. I remember Joe came to dinner one night and we served spaghetti. Joe taught us the proper way to eat it - twirled with a spoon! I was amused by him when I was little, respected him as I matured, and will always hold a fondness for him as a wonderful person and true friend of my dad's. He will be missed.
