Jeffrey Leonard Butler

Jeffrey Leonard Butler, age 63, of Wilmington, Delaware peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

Jeff was a proud graduate of Salesianum School, Class of 1979 and attended the University of Delaware.

Jeff was a dedicated family man and a hard worker. He was self-employed with his wife for the past 32 years in a legal support business that they started together back in 1992.

An avid outdoorsman, Jeff’s happiest times were spent hiking the mountains in Virginia, Maine and Colorado. Old Rag Mountain in Virginia was one of his favorite hikes. Precipice Trail in Acadia National Park was also one of his favorites and he never missed a chance to hike it while vacationing in Maine. The only thing that could make his time in the woods even better would be a bear sighting. Jeff loved bears and was always on the lookout for them. He considered bears his “spirit animal”.

Jeff is pre-deceased by his parents, Theresa Victoria Sant and Julian Leonard Butler, Jr. and his sister, Dina Butler. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Butler, his uncle Gary Butler, his cousin Barbara Boyd, his in-laws, Marvin and Eve Stone, and extended family in both Virginia and California.

Services will be private.
