Jon Gary Lassiter

Jon Gary Lassiter, 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away on Friday December 3, 2021. The family would like to thank the staff at Season’s Hospice for the outstanding and compassionate care that they provided to Jon during the past month.

Interment will be private with a public memorial service to be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in early 2022. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 or to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.parkinson.org.

I didn't have much interaction with Jon & Barbara other then seeing them occasionally at Aldersgate Church or at my dance showcase. Both were such inviting, welcoming and wonderful people every time I saw them. I never felt out of place at a church that I wasn't a member. I knew more about them through Laura. I know I would have sat and watched the Andy Griffith show over and over with Jon because it is still one of my favorites. The legacy of a couple is reflected in their children. Ron and Laura are amazing people. Ron and his family always welcomed me at church to sit with them because they knew most Sundays I sat by myself. Laura has been my rock for over 20 years. Without her in my life I wouldn't be where I am now. She stood by me through my most difficult times. I did not get to see my Uncle Jon as often as I would have liked! The distance between us did not allow that to happen! I have special memories of him and my dad. He was special to me growing up and was a wonderful man! I will miss him. He is now in heaven with his mom, dad, brother and sister! I love you Uncle Jon! From your favorite niece!
