Jean Ann Buckley Autman

Jean Ann Buckley Autman went to be with her Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2020, with her loving husband David by her side.

She was born in 1955 in Wilmington DE, the daughter of Alyn and Eileen (Thompson) Buckley. Jean was a lifelong resident of Wilmington and graduate of Ursuline Academy. She worked for Blue Cross – Blue Shield of Delaware for many years and was an exemplary employee.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Jean and David were soulmates and enjoyed going on adventures, always making sure to bring home a souvenir. Stone Harbor was a favorite destination of hers. She loved animals, specifically squirrels, and could often be found feeding them from her balcony or down by the Brandywine River. She was a very creative artist and enjoyed making her own jewelry. Despite living with debilitating and relentless illnesses, Jean had a heart of gold and was always trying to brighten everyone’s day. She always made sure to send a birthday card and hand-picked gift. Regardless of her own situation, Jean made it her mission to donate to as many charities as possible, always striving to help the less fortunate.

She is predeceased by her father, Alyn Buckley and two sisters, Susan (Buckley) Hughes and Carol Ann (Buckley) Kelly.

She is survived by her husband, David McClure Autman, mother Eileen (Thompson) Buckley, sister Diane (Buckley) Poole, and many nieces and nephews.

Those who wish to remember Jean in a special way may make donations to her memory to either the Delaware Humane Society or St. Jude’s Hospital.
