Jacqueline K. Flanigan

Jacqueline (Jackie) Flanigan, 78, died at home on Feburary 11, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in 1943 in Old Town, ME, the daughter of Emmet W and Blanche (Clukey) King.

Jackie was a dedicated wife and mother, always dropping everything to hop in the car to help (or even just to visit) any member of her family at a moment’s notice. She happily sat hours in the cold watching her beloved husband’s football coaching and her daughters’ marching band performances.

Ever the lifelong learner, Jackie proudly earned her medical transcription degree at age 55 and spent her free time learning to paint, draw and craft.

Jackie had a deep appreciation for nature and spending time camping at Salt Fork. Even with her condition she was able to find the beauty in such seemingly simple things like an autumn leaf or a day’s sunset.

Her unwavering faith was evident by the strength she showed through her life. Even after diagnosis she committed to “let go and let God.”

Jackie was predeceased by her parents and her beloved nephew Wilfred, Willy King. Among her surviving family are her husband Paul A. Flanigan, her daughters Carrie Winslow (Brian) of Hockessin, DE, Julie Guido (George) of West Chester, PA, and Amy Baughman (Bryan) of New Concord, OH; her grandchildren Emily Hagelberg, Evan Winslow, Gabrielle, Madeline, Olivia, and Jack Guido, and Cade and Laurie Baughman; one great grandchild, Samuel Hagelberg; and two brothers, James King (Mary) of Milford, ME, Dennis King (Sandra) of Freeport, ME

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
