Herbert L. Snyder, Jr.

Herbert L. Snyder, Jr., age 91, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Claymont, Delaware, passed away on Thursday August 31, 2017 at Forwood Manor.

Mr. Snyder was a WWII Army Veteran who served with the 38th Infantry Battalion 7th Armored Division in Germany and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was wounded in battle one month prior to the end of the war in Europe.

He retired in 1987 after working 30 years for Metropolitan Life in insurance sales.

Mr. Snyder was an avid sports fan, especially the Phillies, Eagles and Penn State football. He loved watching college football on Saturdays with his grandson, Brian.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dorothy R. Snyder; son Dennis H. Snyder; daughter-in-law Marybeth M. Snyder; grandsons Brian E. Snyder and Andrew D. Snyder, all of Wilmington; granddaughter Rebecca C. Snyder of Phoenix, Arizona; sister Jane Smith of Sellersville, Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law Jane Snyder of Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
