Glenn Ward of Chester County died at home surrounded by loved ones–Maryann, his wife of 25 years, and his two sons Will and Matt–after a long battle with brain cancer.
Glenn was a great son, brother, cousin, coach, husband, and father.
He grew up in Delaware County with his brother Gregg, his sister Lorraine, his mom Peg, and his deceased dad Charlie, whom he admired and adored.
Glenn graduated from the University of Delaware. He then went on to law school at George Mason. He practiced law in Delaware for over 20 years.
Glenn had great roommates and friends at St James High School, the University of Delaware, and George Mason.
Glenn loved spending holidays with all his cousins, especially Matt, Susie, and Sagg, who have helped us in every step of this horrible cancer journey.
After Glenn graduated from law school, he moved back to Delaware, where he practiced law.
Glenn loved to coach, where he met many people coaching youth football, lacrosse and basketball. He was one of the founding fathers of the youth lacrosse club the Blue Demons.
Glenn was the best at everything he did. However, his greatest role in life was being a dad. He loved, and was very proud of, his sons Will and Matt. Glenn loved coaching Matt and Will in every sport.
He loved Matt and Will so very much that he endured 26 rounds of chemo and two brain surgeries just to spend more time with them. He loved going to all their games, especially in middle school, high school, and college.
In honor of Glenn’s love of sports, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Kennett Booster Club in memory of Glenn Ward. A yearly scholarship will be awarded in his honor to a boy or girl lacrosse or basketball player.
