Frederick W. Henry

Mr. Henry, a native of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, graduated from Ohio State University in 1949 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.  In 1967, he received an MBA from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, Michigan after having attended Case Western Reserve University.  He joined the Upjohn Company of Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1949 as a pharmaceutical sales representative in Cleveland, Ohio.  In 1950 he joined the U.S. Army and served two years at Brooke Army Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.  Returning to Upjohn he transferred to Upjohn’s home office in 1961 where he held various positions in the U.S. Marketing Division before becoming Director, Marketing Planning & Promotion.  In March 1980 Mr.Henry joined Endo Laboratories, a Dupont Company subsidiary, in Garden City, New York as Vice President of Marketing.  In 1981 he moved to Wilmington in the same capacity for Du Pont Pharmaceuticals and retired at the end of 1988.

Mr. Henry was a past member of the American Management Association, the American Marketing Association, the Marketing Science Institute and the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Boston. He was also a member of the University and Whist Club in Wilmington.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; son Mark of Wilmington; daughter Katherine Henry of New York City; grandson Zachary Cohen of New York City; great-grandson Max; stepchildren Rob and Jamie Wiest of Wilmington and Ann Coates of Oxford, PA. His first wife predeceased him in 1996.

Memorial contributions may be sent in his memory to Compassionate Care Hospice Foundation, Inc., 248 E. Chestnut Hill Road, Suite 4, Newark, DE 19713.
