Eveline Elizabeth Hanafi

Eveline Elizabeth Hanafi “Ginger” “Eve” (née Dugan, Conner) passed away in the MICU at Newark Christiana Hospital on December 3, 2019 due to complications with pneumonia, aggressive thoracic infection, and cancer of the brain and lungs; she was 60 years old.

Eve was born in 1959 in Wilmington, Delaware to her parents, Thomas and Joan Dugan. She graduated from Delcastle High School, where she focused on cosmetology and culinary arts. She married Charles Conner, divorced, and then Married Mohammed Hanafi. She later attended Deltech where she pursued her dream of teaching children with special needs. She was an avid supporter of various arts; particularly ballet, music, and visual arts. She excelled at still life sketching and acrylic painting.

Eve is survived by her loving mother Joan E. McGuire of Wilmington DE, her children: daughter Keirnán Conner of Wilmington DE, son Anthony Conner of Delaware City, son Dennis Conner of Newark DE, and daughter Eveline Conner of Wilmington DE. Cherished grandmother “Grams” to Ramon Conner. As well as a host of siblings, step-siblings, nieces and nephews.

Eve was very fond of animals and in her youth she often volunteered at animal shelters, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society: 12 Germay Dr., Wilmington, DE 19804

Funeral Services

The memorial will take place on 12/14/19 from 11am-12pm at Chandler Funeral Home in Hockessin DE: 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707

A celebration of life will follow at The Six Paupers Tavern & Restaurant: 7465 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707
