Eileen Marie Thompson Buckley

Eileen Marie Thompson Buckley, of Wilmington DE, passed away peacefully on July 5^th, 2024 at the age of 98. She will be dearly missed by her family, whose lives she so beautifully touched.

Eileen was a devoted mother, grandmother and nurse. She enjoyed summers in Stone Harbor, bird watching and spending time with her loved ones. She embodied the best of qualities:  unconditional love and unending generosity. She will be forever missed, until we meet again.

Eileen is survived by her daughter, Diane Poole, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Caroline and Frank Thompson, her husband Alyn D. Buckley and her three daughters, Susan Hughes, Jean Autman and Carol Ann Kelly.

A service for Eileen will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. A visitation will be held prior from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. Interment will be private.

At her request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
