Dorothy Verone Campbell

Dorothy Verone Campbell, age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 25, 2023.

Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1930, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Carmela (nee Fumo) Verone. She was a graduate of Bay Ridge High School and then attended New York University.

She is survived by her husband Dr. Charles P. Campbell, sons Paul (Cynthia) Campbell of Boulder, CO, David (Lisa) Campbell of Wilmington, DE, and Peter Campbell of Wilmington, DE, grandchildren Aleister and Trevor Campbell, Carolyn Morgera, and Lauren Campbell.

Funeral Services

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 7 Sharpley Rd., Wilmington, DE. Interment will be private.

    Our sincerest condolences to all of you. Dorothy was a lovely person, many visits to Dr Charles for appts when we would see Dorothy, always a smile and kind words for all of us, I would occasionally see Dorothy and Charles, after his practice was closed sometimes in New Castle for a "New Castle event" or banking in Greenville. We have fond memories of both of them. Dorothy crocheted a lovely teething bib for Jason which all three boys used, and we would share stories of three sons, my parents and Nan and Grete. Winnie (Herman Ostendorf's daughter).
