Dorothy Perryman

Dorothy “Scotty” Perryman, age 95, passed away on Dec 1, 2022, surrounded by loving family in her Claymont, DE home.

Born in Chester, PA to Lewis and Sophia Roberts (nee Lay) she was the youngest of the Robert’s clan.
Growing up in Chester, Dorothy attended Chester High School, graduating in 1945.

In 1969, Dorothy married DeForrest “Jack” Perryman and they made their home in New Port Richey, Fl. For more than 40 years, Dorothy worked as a typist, florist and volunteered for local organizations. In 2013, at the age of 86 years young, Dorothy decided to relocate her life to Delaware to be closer to family.

Most recently, she brightened the halls of B’nai B’rith House, in Claymont holding such events as Fuzzy Navel Friday and won most creative costume in this year’s B’nai B’rith Halloween Festivities with her rendition of a homemade Popeye costume.

Dorothy was affectionately known by her family as “Scotty”, a term given to her by her brother Raymond for her frugal nature. Dorothy loved to garden, sew and bake and always brought a sweet something to every family gathering.

Dorothy is predeceased by her Mother and Father, Husband Jack, Siblings; Edith McKee, Raymond Roberts, George Roberts and Helen Booth. Nephews; John “Pat” McKee Jr, Wayne McKee, Raymond McKee, William J Booth Jr. Nieces; Dorothy “Sue” Rooney, Shirley Jones, Janice Roberts

Left to cherish the memory of Dorothy is a host of family spanning 3 generations; Elma McKee and children Ronald (Deanna) McKee and Elma “Cissy” McKee Vanaman of Milford, DE, Kathy Craft (Frank) of Pennsville NJ, Kary Henry of Claymont, DE, Jay Booth of Claymont, DE and William J Booth III (Casie) of Elkton, MD and many other great nieces and nephews.

Dorothy “Aunt Scotty” will be dearly missed by everyone who appreciated her spry nature, mental sharpness and caring soul.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Aunt Scotty’s caretakers Carol and Adrienne.
