After graduating from Salesianum School in 1961, Ed went on to graduate from Spring Garden Institute where he studied diesel mechanics. He was employed as a heavy equipment mechanic and apprenticeship program instructor for 35 years and was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 542 for 55 years. Ed served in the Delaware Air National Guard and was a member of Elks Lodge 307 and Prince of Piedmont Lodge 475. He was an active member of Christ Our King Parish and a longtime coach and referee of many youth sports in the community. Ed enjoyed all things outdoors and one of his greatest pleasures was boating and crabbing with family and friends on the Chesapeake Bay.

Ed was predeceased by his parents, Joseph J. and Marie L. (Loffredo) DiLuchio and his brother, Robert J. DiLuchio. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Maureen (Fahey) DiLuchio, his four children, Christopher DiLuchio of Wilmington, Michele Turulski (Ed) of Wilmington, Beth Albano (Joe) of Wilmington, and Thomas DiLuchio (Samantha) of Manasquan, NJ. Ed is also survived by his grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life: Alex, Erin, Brogan, Ben, Sophia, Niland and Lauren, and his great granddaughter, Charlotte. He loved nothing more than to be with them watching their sporting events, starting a driveway basketball game, going to Oysterfest in St. Michaels, MD, taking them to New York at Christmastime and teaching them all he knew.

Dear Maureen and Family, I am very sorry that Eddie has past away. I grew up with him on Rodney Street. He was quiet and loved to play baseball in the street. In later years I saw him frequently at the Brandywine Y. He was always joking with my husband Charlie who worked there. Always keep memories of Eddie in yyour hearts.

To the DiLuchio family with our sympathy and love. We were so sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He was a kind man and a good neighbor and friend. Thinking of him will always put a smile on our faces. He could never walk the Penny Acres circle without stopping to say hi and having a kind word for everyone, plus some very interesting conversations about life and his own experiences. He will be truly missed and forever loved. As you celebrate Ed's life, we hope your memories will bring you comfort. Sending a hug to all of you. C & R
