Deborah S Capobianco, age 62, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on Friday, the 18th of June at home surrounded by her enamored husband and three loving children.
Deborah graduated from Dover High School and went on to study Health Records Administration at Temple University; graduating from there with a BS degree. During both high school and college, she played the baritone and was completely enthralled with marching band. She went on to meet her husband, Patrick Capobianco, during her first year in the Temple University Diamond Marching Band, which only furthered her love for her experience there.
After graduating college, Deborah earned her certifications in health records administration and tumor registry. She then went on to work at Milford Memorial Hospital as a Registered Record Administrator. Over the next eight years, Deborah worked for Rockford Center, the DuPont Company, and Germantown Hospital before stepping away from records administration to focus on her family.
Three kids later, in 1997, Deborah started teaching at Maple Lane Elementary School as their computer lab specialist. She spent 16 wonderful years at this school; loving every second of it. The friendships she made with the other teachers there were ones she cherished dearly and lasted the remained of her lifetime. She treasured all the kids she taught along the way, always saying that she could have been paid in hugs and be happy forever. After Maple Lane, she spent two years as the computer coordinator at Rustin High School before leaving the education profession.
In 2015 she started work at AstraZeneca as a computer room technician, alongside her husband, until mid-2018 when she was diagnosed with cancer causing her to step away from working.
The most important thing that Deborah did in her life was build a family. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Patrick J Capobianco, and three children: Christopher, Brian, and Megan. Deborah loved her family more than life itself. She never once missed one of her sons’ ice hockey games or her daughter’s marching band performances. She showered her children with support and volunteered her time with any activity they were involved with. She will be dearly missed by her entire family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Deborah Capobianco’s memory can be made to the Elmwood Park Zoo at www.elmwoodparkzoo.org/support/donate.
