Constance Lorraine Oatley

Constance Lorraine Oatley, age 78, of Panama City Beach, FL and formerly of Claymont, DE and Galena, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her devoted husband, daughters Sandy and Nancy, and her grandson Andrew on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Covenant Care Hospice.

Connie was born in Chester, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine Mamczur Fedena. Connie was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and attended the University of Delaware.

Connie was a teacher at St. Mary Magdalen in Wilmington and St. Hedwig’s in Chester. She was the self proprietor of Nostalgia Country Gifts store in Galena, Maryland that she and her husband Richard operated for over 18 years. Nostalgia was a popular gathering spot in Galena, where the smell of potpourri and the old fashioned ambiance was like stepping back in time. Connie was a huge Phillies fan and enjoyed watching all the games and rooting for her team. She loved living by the water and three of her homes were situated at waters edge.

Connie will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 33 years, Richard Oatley; her daughters, Susan Pfeil of New Castle, DE, Sandra Mancuso (Bud) of Richmond, VA, Nancy Seramone (Gary) of Hockessin, DE and Cathleen Oatley of Panama City, FL; her son, Robert Farris (Suzanne) of Galena, MD; three step children Stephen Oatley of Galena, MD, April Gary of Philadelphia, PA, and Tami (Rick) Ator of Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren; Marc, Jonathan, Christy, Samantha, Anthony, Casey, Andrew, Sydni, Scott, and Stephen; a great-granddaughter, Aria; her sister, Elaine Collins of Wilmington, DE; and her brother Joseph Fedena of Glen Mills, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Lung Association.

    JOSEPH & CAROLINE FEDENA writes,
Dear Richard, Susan, Nancy, Sandy, Cathy, Robert and family, please accept our deepfelt sympathy on the passing of your wife/mother/grandmother. Words can't express our sorrow. Uncle Joe and I are so very sad about his sister's death. Her life seems to have flown by. We love the picture of her that you posted. Connie was beautiful. We can see her features in all of you. We remember how she loved to jitterbug and went on Bandstand several times. Uncle Joe has many memories of her when they lived on Engle Street. May God bless all of you and help to ease your pain over time. Love, Uncle Joe and Aunt Carole

I’m very sorry to hear of Connie’s passing and send my best wishes and condolences. Connie was one of my mother’s good neighbors and her daughter Nancy, my daughter’s best friend. Though life has brought many changes and we’ve gone separate ways, I still reflect fondly on memories of her. I’ll sure she’ll be sadly missed. Prayers for her soul and for those who will mourn her.
