Christine W. Obara

Christine Weiss Obara, age 76, of Wilmington, Delaware, formerly of Lansford, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2017 in her home.

She attended Lansford High School, and graduated from Goldey Beacom College in 1958. After working at Hercules, Inc., she served as the secretary at St. Anthony of Padua Grade School for more than 25 years. A true woman of faith, she was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church and loved to sing hymns. She enjoyed entertaining, celebrating holidays, birdwatching, and country music, as well as spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Emma Weiss, brother Charles William, and her husband of 46 years, Frank Obara, Jr. Her warm smile, caring spirit, and loving generosity will be missed and cherished by her beloved family: her sister Carol Robichaud of Wilmington, her children Frank Obara III of Wilmington and Elizabeth Obara Piedramartel of Baltimore, and their spouses (Paige Obara and Abdel Piedramartel) and children (Charles and Leyna Obara and Nathaniel and Gabriel Piedramartel).
