Christine Hookey

Christine passed away peacefully in her home on April 1st 2023. She was born in Southwest Philly, relocated to Delco, and finally settled in North Delaware.

Christine graduated from Claymont High School, as a member of the Class of 1974. She is predeceased by her mother Joan Carpenter and brother Robert “Bobby” Carpenter of Drexel Hill. She leaves behind her daughter Jennifer Hookey of DE/PA; father Edwin Hookey (Denise Hookey) of PA/DE; siblings Kathy Simpson of NJ, Linda Rementer (Tom) of PA and John Carpenter (Margie) of PA; nieces Jeanette Simpson, Lynnette Peterson (Josh) of NJ and nephew David Kaczynski (Heather) of NJ; great-nephews Jeremy, Braden, and Bradley Kaczynski, Dominic, Gavin, Ryan, and Landon Casiano, and Raelynn Peterson.  Along with many, many friends.

She worked as mailing lists supervisor at DuPont prior to taking early retirement. Chrissy was an avid E-A-G-L-E-S fan and toured many stadiums over the years. In 1972 she was a runner up for Miss Delaware.

She was a firm believer in Catholic faith, and LOVED animals of all kinds. Her happy place was on Brigantine Beach in NJ, where she spent a lot of time as a child and as an adult where she sunbathed for hours at a time.

Heartfelt sympathies to Jen, Mr Hookey(dad), Kathy and family of Chris. An angel on earth, may Christine rest in peace in the loving arms of her savior, The Lord, Jesus Christ. Like the many beautiful angel figurines that adorned her home. May those angels accompany her in life everlasting. We surely have lost the kindest of spirits with a love for all. Always, an open door, a warm smile, kind words and a caring heart. A rare gift to all of us. Love always and forever. Shirley

She lived her life and loved her friends and family with a dedication that was endless. She was more than a co-worker, she was my friend and I will miss the positive influence she brought to my life and soul. Chris, dance with the angels and we will meet again on the other side one day

Chris and I were close friends several years ago. I had some of the best times of my life with her, including attending many Eagles games with her, home and away. We stayed in touch intermittently since then, catching up on everything and reminiscing about all of the good times we had together. So now it's hard to believe I won't be hearing her sweet voice again. She will be dearly missed. God Bless.

Chris had many great attributes, but especially her compassion for others and the lending of her ear to listen to anyone's problems. We had may memorable times together especially watching the Eagles, Brigantine Beach and attending mass on Good Fridays. I will truly miss her, but she is finally at peace and enjoying true happiness with our Savior Jesus Christ! May GOD comfort her loved ones today and always!
