Charles Rea Williams

Charles Rea Williams, age 76, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Christiana Care Hospital.

Charles was born in 1948, in Carrollton, Missouri to Norman and Mildred Jane (Cross) Williams.

Charles lived in Claymont, Delaware during his high school years, but he moved back to Carrollton and graduated in 1966. After high school, he discovered his passion for hunting and became well-known as a bluetick breeder. He raised and trained award-winning dogs.

Later in life, he discovered his passion for traveling with his children, spending weeks at a time visiting family and friends in Missouri, Ohio, Texas, and the Poconos, while also exploring national parks and monuments.

During his final years, his most cherished moments were spending time with his grandchildren to whom he gave unconditional love.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents Norman Williams and Mildred (John) Myers.  He is survived by his daughters Robin Sportman, Tina Pfister, Tammy Long, Charla Lang (Garrett), and Savanna Williams, and son Steven McSparren along with his siblings: Janis Rogers, Cathy D’Angelo, Karen Galbraith, Belinda McGinnes, and James (Vicky) Williams.  Charles is also survived by his grandchildren: Garrett Lang Jr., Kalissa Lang, Rheagan Lang, Brandie (Brian) Schroder, Samuel (Jessica) Grant, Matthew Grant, Kaylee Long, Anna Harlow, and Paris (Dustin) Northcutt and 14 great grandchildren.
