Bruce F. Emge

Bruce F. Emge, age 78, of Severna Park, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Wilmington Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.  Born in 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Wilbur F. “Bud” Emge, Jr. and Aneta B. Clipper Emge.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Daniel G. Emge and David R. Emge.

Bruce was a lifelong resident of Anne Arundel County, having graduated from Andover High School in 1964 and having pursued a career as an auditor with the Anne Arundel County Public Schools and Anne Arundel County Government.  Upon retiring from government service, Bruce later pursued a second career as a Pilates instructor.  During his life, he was an avid aviator, and he enjoyed martial arts, racquetball, biking, skating and dancing.

Bruce was a beloved father, uncle, grandfather, and friend.  He is survived by his son, Richard L. Emge; his daughter-in-law, Elizabeth D. Power; his grandson, Owen L. Emge, his granddaughter, Natalie A. Emge; his sister, Joyce E. Emge, and his brother, Timothy J. Emge.

Funeral Services

A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, 105 1st Ave SW, Glen Burnie, MD 21061. A funeral service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 7231 Ritchie Hwy, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/en/affiliates/delaware), Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland (https://mealsonwheelsmd.org), or the Friends of Anne Arundel County Trails (https://www.friendsofaatrails.org/).
