I remember Bruce very well from the time we were together at the Experimental Station. His insight and keen understanding, especially of the rhino viruses, was fascinating to those of us who looked on. Let me send my deepest condolences to his family.

I just found out my friend Bruce died. What a loss. I first met Bruce on E. 19th in Brooklyn. I was twelve years old and we almost had a fist fight( I think I would have won LOL) Then we became close friends. Both of us loved fishing, basketball, stickball, touch football and doing stupid things like when he fell down an elevator shaft in an unfinished building on Ocean and Ave. P . I thought he was dead. I found him stuck on the pipes on the bottom. We ran to see all the sci fie movies. He hated the Godzilla ones. There are too many stories to tell. I remember them all. We were close all through high school and then, unfortunately, went our separate ways. I moved away, went to College in Georgia, lived in SC, NJ, Mexico Horseheads NY and back to NJ with a few stops in between. We connected again a about 9 years ago and spoke to and email each other on a regular basis. I asked a few times to come to Canada with me to fish. He was very private about his health problems and just said he could not go. My condolences to wife and family. To Bruce, I will remember you and think about you until I can't think anymore. Sleep well. Your friend, Gary Nomer
