Anthony “Tony” Michael Rivera, age 25, of Garnet Valley, PA and formerly of Wilmington, DE and Coatesville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2022 at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE.
Tony attended St. Mary Magdalen School in Wilmington, DE and was a 2015 graduate of Concord High School. He was co-owner of T & A Lawn Service based out of Coatesville, PA and also worked for as a bartender and server at Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza in Wilmington and Exton.
Tony took pride in his landscaping business that was evident through how much he loved to show off his work. He enjoyed sports all his life from football, baseball, and basketball, to running and swimming. He was the captain of the Concord High School male swim team and was affectionately known as “Capt.” Tony loved his trucks and would spend many hours as a self-taught mechanic working on and modifying them. Among his favorite things were music, motorcycles, the Philadelphia Eagles, and Chris Stapleton. Family meant everything to Tony and his family extended past bloodlines. Spending time with his family and friends was among his favorite activities.
Tony genuinely cared and loved deeply. He was known for his infectious smile and laughter that lit up every room he was in. He was always willing to help anyone in need and was there for all those whom he loved and cared for. Tony’s caring and helpful nature extended even in his death where, his final way of lending a helping hand was through the Gift of Life Organ Donor Program. Through his donations he was able to save lives and help numerous families.
Tony is survived by his parents: Pat Parisano Laurin (Partner, Mark Zurlo) of Garnet Valley, PA and Lou Rivera of Coatesville, PA; brother: Zachary Rivera (Partner Kenneth Tompkins) of Staten Island, NY; sisters: Nicole Molitor of Wilmington, DE/Garnet Valley, PA, Valerie Egan (Husband Matthew) of Ridley, PA; and Jaclyn Rivera of Philadelphia, PA; step-siblings: Rachael Molitor of Wilmington, DE, Rebecca Molitor of Wilmington, DE, Tommy Seth of Coatesville, PA, Austin Seth of Coatesville, PA, and Briana Seth of Coatesville, PA; grandmother: Patricia Parisano of West Deptford, NJ; step-grandparents: Nesti and Paul Molitor of Wilmington, DE; girlfriend: Lydeah Carpenter of Coatesville, PA; and many more loved relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 23, 2022 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 7 Sharpley Rd. Wilmington, DE 19803. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
