Anne Marie (Shebel) Powell, age 72, of Hockessin, DE passed away on Jan 23, 2024 at Christiana Hospital after a 2 year battle with cancer.
Anne graduated from Elston Sr High School, Michigan City, IN in 1970 just before marrying her sweetheart John Powell. Their marriage of 53 years serves as a testament of love to all those who knew them.
Anne had long careers at both the University of Delaware and AstraZeneca before retiring in 2014. She was a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals, Resurrection Parish Council, Indivisible Highlands and Beyond, and was active in the Coffee Run Condominium Community. Some of her favorite places included Abiquiu, New Mexico; West Palm Beach, Florida and any of the many US National Parks she visited from Denali to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and many in between. Spending time with her children and grandchildren was her favorite activity.
Anne will be missed by her loving husband John Powell, daughters Carissa Neubert (Bryan), and Dawn Maloney (Dave), and her grandchildren Elaina Neubert, Jared Maloney, Alexandra Neubert, Kara Maloney, and Erin Neubert. She is also survived by her siblings Michael (Carolyn) Shebel, Michelle Karlowsky, Mark (Amy) Shebel, and Matt (Mary Kay) Shebel along with many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and countless friends and neighbors.
