Nancy Baker, 89 of Bellefonte passed away in the early morning hours on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Kutz Senior Living Campus in Wilmington. She was born in Wilmington on July 16, 1931.
Nancy loved life and shared hers for many happy decades with her husband Thomas Baker. She found joy in owning, as well as, operating her own vintage shops such as The Tree House Boutique. Her true passion in life though, was caring for animals. Whether she was buying hundreds of pounds of bird seed or countless cans of cat food to feed all the strays, she felt that it was her mission to help animals in need. She had a heart of gold and was loved by all, people and animals alike.
Although Nancy was small in stature, she had a larger-than-life personality and exuberant presence. She loved to laugh and visit with all her many friends and family members. All that knew Nancy were aware of how proud she was of her Irish descent and of being the matriarch of the family that she built with her husband Tom.
Nancy was pre-deceased by her husband Thomas Baker, son Rob Baker, daughters Shawn Snyder and Lisa Hamilton. Nancy is survived by her son Tom Baker and his wife (Nancy) of Pennsylvania, son Ted Baker of Wilmington and son-in-law Stuart Snyder of Hockessin. Nancy is also survived by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The Baker and Snyder Families, would like to thank the Kutz Senior Living Campus for taking such excellent care of our “Nan”, as she was lovingly called.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Nancy’s name to the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE, 19801 or online at Delawarehumane.org.
