Amy S. Beachell

Amy S. Beachell, age 41, of Wilmington, DE (formerly Dover), passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18th, 2023, surrounded by her beloved husband, children, and parents.

Amy was born in Dover, DE, the daughter of Franklin “Dean” and Deborah Kay Stowe and grew up in Magnolia, Delaware, with her loving sister Deana. Some of Amy’s fondest childhood memories were spending time at church and attending church activities.

Amy graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in May 2000 and went on to graduate from Goldey-Beacom College in May 2004 with a Bachelor of Science, in Human Resource Management. She was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority and held multiple positions, including President. She met many of her life-long friends while being involved with the sorority and campus life. During her freshman year at Goldey-Beacom College, Amy met her husband, W. John Beachell, Jr. whom she married soon after earning her degree.

Amy and W. John lived in Wilmington, Delaware where they raise two children, Katelyn Elizabeth and Logan John. Amy also enjoyed raising her two golden retrievers, Thunder and Bailey. As a working mother, Amy enjoyed the family vacations at the beach and lived for weekends to spend quality family time together and to support all her children’s activities. As a parent, Amy was proud and amazed at how strong and independent her children were. Amy always said that her greatest accomplishment in life was her children.

For nearly 20 years, Amy has been working for various companies, focusing on the strategic direction of their Human Resources with her specialty being Talent Acquisition. Prior to retiring to focus on her health, she was employed with Bayada Home Health Care, serving as the Division Director of Field Talent Acquisition Strategy, Operations, and Retention for their Skilled Nursing Division. She took great pride in the mission of Bayda and her team’s accomplishments in helping others in their times of need.

Amy, for the past four years, has been battling breast cancer. Throughout that entire time, Amy continued being positive and optimistic, never being negative about her situation.

Amy is survived by her devoted husband, W. John Beachell, and her two loving children, Katelyn Elizabeth Beachell and Logan John Beachell. Amy is also survived by her parents, Franklin “Dean” and Deborah Kay Stowe of Magnolia, DE; sister, Deana Stowe Coulter and her husband Matt Coulter of Ellijay, GA; father-in-law, Walter John Beachell Sr. of Hockessin, DE; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Beachell of Pike Creek, DE.

Amy is predeceased by her mother-in-law, Susan Ann Meade-Beachell, whom she greatly admired.

I’m in utter shock and disbelief at this news. Amy was such a shining light and one of the sweetest people I ever met. I remember when I lived in the Pike Creek area and occasionally running into her at Acme while shopping. It almost became a routine at times and I often found myself looking to see if I would run into her. Several years later we ran a couple of mud runs together with college friends. She always had a positive attitude regardless of how tough the race was. My thoughts and prayers are with her family right now. May she rest in peace and free from pain.
