Kevin F. Quinn

Kevin Francis Quinn, age 75 of Hockessin, DE, formerly of Hillsborough, NJ passed away peacefully July 30, 2021 after a short illness.

He was born in Long Island and grew up in Dunellen, NJ with his parents and brothers. He was a graduate of Dunellen High School in 1964. He served in the NJ Army National Guard as a young man.

An avid car enthusiast, Kevin had a race car early in his adult life and always enjoyed watching drag racing, going to classic car shows and remodeling cars. He, along with his lifelong business partner and best friend, Art Purvis, owned various automotive businesses, including a gas station, an auto parts store and Valley Auto Air which was a car accessories installation business. He eventually left the automotive business to become a real estate agent in NJ for 15 years before retiring and moving to Delaware in 2015.

He was the king of corny dad jokes and had a great sense of humor. He took pride in his Irish heritage, loved to watch a baseball game or sit around the table to talk current events, politics, or tell stories of his childhood. With an easy going, warm personality, he always believed in the power of positive thinking.

He was an active and involved Dad and Poppy. He found great joy in his kids and grandkids. He was their coach, car repairman, driveway basketball player, goofy hype man and biggest fan on the sidelines of every sport. He loved and supported them unconditionally.

He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 50 years, May Quinn (nee Passariello), his children, Jessica Quinn Catts and her husband, Michael, of Newark, DE, Daniel Quinn and his wife Laura, of Budd Lake, NJ, five grandchildren, Abigail, Quinn, Samantha, Michael and Bradley, and his brother and sister in law, Christopher and Cynthia Quinn of Dunellen, NJ.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 12:00 PM at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 82 Possum Park Road, Newark, DE 19711. A visitation will be held prior at the church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be at a later date.
