Sharen Anna Muldowney, age 60, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Christiana Hospital with her twin sister Karen by her side.
Sharen was a 1980 graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and enjoyed spending her summers lifeguarding at Kynlyn and Colony North pools. Sharen knew she wanted to care for people throughout her teenage and college years . Sharen was an alumni of the University of Delaware, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1985. She started her nursing career at Christiana Care in medicine then moved onto Cardiology. Sharen obtained her certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN). In 2000, Sharen made a career change to pharmaceutical research at AstraZeneca where she worked for the rest of her career.
Sharen enjoyed traveling to Australia, Ireland, Hawaii, Mexico, Las Vegas, and to the Delaware Beaches and New Jersey Shores. One of her favorite family traditions was spending summers at Knoebels in Elysburg, PA. Sharen was a faithful Philadelphia Eagles & Phillies fan who enjoyed spending time watching the games with family & friends.
Sharen is preceded in death by her father Jack Muldowney, brother Jackie Muldowney and maternal grandparents, Frank and Marianne Puntigam and Paternal grandparents William and Laura Muldowney.
Sharen is survived by her loving mother, Anna Muldowney (Puntigam), her twin sister, Karen Campanella and her husband Paul. She was a beloved aunt to Anthony Campanella (Jina); Kirsten Thompson (Andrew); and Jillian Campanella. Great Aunt to Dominic and Elliana Campanella and Everett Thompson and a great nephew due in September, Bryce Thompson. And survived by many cousins and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Helena’s Catholic Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, DE 19809. Family and friends may visit with the family at 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be private.
