    Carmen Knox writes,
Janet was a wonderful volunteer at Literacy Volunteers at the Wilmlington Library. She was an office volunteer, board member at one time, and tutor. She and Mr. Loper generously offered a painting to LVA for several of our fundraiser events, a 5K race. Runners looked forward to these posters. Janet was a friend to many tutors and students. Her efforts were very much appreciated by students and staff. So much fun to have in the office. Carmen Knox

Kerin Hearn lit a candle and writes,
When I think of Janet, I think of the many celebrations of her birthday in Quebec where we all went to paint with Ed Loper. In those halcyon days, we lolled away the afternoon on the grass in the Parc des Gouverneurs in the shadow of the Chateau Frontenac--blankets spread next to each other to hold wine and cheese, French baguettes and ourselves. Tired from a day of painting, enjoying the breezes coming over the St. Lawrence River. That is only one of so many memories of Janet and Ed. They were family! So much laughter and camaraderie and memories to last a lifetime! Kerin

I am so sorry to hear of Janet's passing. I only knew her as an "old lady", but a fun and sassy "old lady." I know she touched a lot of lives and very much loved her family. She will be missed by all who knew her. My deepest condolences to her many loved ones, especially her daughter, Tina.
