In 1985, she was recruited by the Tatnall School as head of its Lower School, a position she held for 17 years. After retiring in 2002, she continued to privately tutor children in reading and math.
In 1979, Janet moved to Yorklyn, where she lived happily with her pet dogs and cats for more than 40 years. She is missed by her neighbors and friends, including those at the Kennett Square YMCA, who enjoyed her company and looked out for her as she aged.
Janet is survived by her nieces, Karen Carapelluci and Sharon Hayes, her great-niece Paula Hayes, and her great-nephew Chris Carapelluci.
